Via Lusitana inaugurates a Pilgrim Information Center in Lisboa

On May 11, 2024, the Via Lusitana Pilgrim Association inaugurated a new Pilgrim Information Center at the Church of Conceição Velha in Lisboa. This center aims to provide detailed and personalized support to all pilgrims traveling the Camino de Santiago de Compostela or the Camino de Fátima.

In addition to offering maps, guides, and practical route information, the center stands out for its direct support to travelers visiting the site. This includes guidance on journey planning, such as selecting the best itinerary, accommodation options, and points of interest along the routes. For those with questions about physical or spiritual preparation, the center provides advice to help ensure that each pilgrim is as prepared as possible before embarking on or continuing their journey.

The creation of this support hub was made possible through collaboration with the Parishes of São Nicolau and Santa Maria Madalena, which provided the facilities. The Via Lusitana Pilgrim Association, known for its extensive knowledge of the Caminos and pilgrims’ needs, offers specialized assistance in partnership with the National Center for Culture (focused on the Camino de Fátima) and QuoVadis (promoting the religious heritage of the Patriarchate of Lisbon).

The center is open every afternoon from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, offering updated and relevant information to all pilgrims or those planning to embark on this journey.
