Castelo Branco hosts “Conversations on the Camino”

The Confraria dos Caminhos is organizing the first session of “Conversations on the Camino” on November 25, at 6:00 PM, at the Museum of Sacred Art of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Castelo Branco (Graça’s Convent). This event is free and open to everyone interested in the Camino de Santiago, pilgrimages, or simply the joy of walking, promising to be a moment of reflection, sharing, and inspiration.

The initiative will feature two speakers: Father Nuno Folgado, who will present the theme Apostle Santiago Maior: who was he?”, exploring key moments in the life of the saint and the significance of the Camino de Santiago; and José Manuel Boieiro, who will share his experience of the Northern Coastal Route, a path spanning over 800 kilometers through diverse landscapes, requiring significant physical and mental preparation. Boieiro will recount the challenges, motivations, and moments of resilience he experienced during more than a month of walking, including mountain stages.

For those interested, this event is an opportunity to learn more about the life of the Apostle Santiago and hear stories from those who walk the paths, whether as pilgrims or travelers. With this initiative, the Confraria also seeks to promote walking, whether for pilgrimage, cultural, or tourism purposes. Understanding the roots of the Camino de Santiago enriches the experience and encourages more people to embark on this unique journey.

The Confraria dos Caminhos is a cultural association based in Castelo Branco dedicated to promoting walking in various forms, such as pilgrimages, cultural journeys, and tourism. Created to enhance and enrich walking-related experiences, this entity seeks to engage the spiritual, cultural, and physical aspects of these journeys, valuing both individual and collective experiences. The association encourages reflection and knowledge while connecting participants with the stories and traditions of the routes. Although regional in scope, its impact extends to various pilgrimage routes, including those of Santiago and Fátima, promoting activities such as lectures, walks, and moments of sharing.
